Friday Excerpt: One from Breath(e)
(W)hole’s sequel is on the horizon. Publication is coming up quickly and I’m really excited! Can’t wait to share it with you all.  In the meantime, here is a little scene from the book…

Since the dishes were done, Elizabeth finally went to check out the hallway bathroom. As she expected when she opened the door it looked like an ordinary bathroom. She flicked the switch and plain white light illuminated a room decorated in white and black with touches of ivory. The tub was gleaming white with a shower curtain depicting twisting black flowers across it, and a large mirror in a thick ivory-colored frame hung over the sink. It was unrecognizable. Elizabeth sat down on the edge of the tub as she used to do and leaned her head against the tile side of the shower.
Her memories of the hours spent in this room seemed false. The room made her think that she had imagined it all. There used to be a red bulb in the light fixture. There used to be plastic trays laid end to end on the floor. There used to be a tarp covering the sink counter and a string tied from the shower curtain rod across to the vanity light.
Elizabeth was being erased from this house. Now that she had declared her independence from her mother, there would be no going back. Susan was making sure of that.

Thanks for sharing! I look forward to getting a chance to read it. 🙂
By the way, is that “works in progress” on your site a plugin?
Um, I believe it is a widgit. It didn’t come through WordPress. Here is the website that I took the code from: http://svenja.atspace.com/wordmeter.html
Thanks! I will give it a try. 🙂 Maybe it will help motivate me to keep going now that NaNoWriMo is over. 🙂
I LOVE word count progress bars. Definitely helps keep me motivated 🙂
