Is Your Man Book Cover Worthy?
I rewatched Romancing the Stone last weekend. Â It’s a great movie for a romance writer! Â (Although I liked the sequel, Jewel of the Nile, better). Â A few weeks ago I talked about the Sarah Brown problem, where you preplan what you think the ideal man will be like and can’t see a perfect match for you right in front of your face. I think Joan Wilder has a slightly different, but related problem. Â She compares all the men in her life to the heroes of her books. Â They don’t measure up to her fantasy. Do you find yourself doing this? Â Not necessarily with books you’ve written, but with books you read. Â Do you hope or expect men in real life to behave like men in your favorite books? Â Are books just pure fantasy to you or are they a goal to aim...

Today’s interview is with the author of the Nurse Tiffany series. Â This is a collection of three erotica stories featuring Jeff, a disabled young man, and his new caregiver Tiffany. Â They are intense and very graphic stories! Much more hard-core than what I write. I’m really glad that there are people to write all different aspects and types of stories withcharacters who have disabilities. Nurse Tiffany Bathes Me Nurse Tiffany Meets an Escort Nurse Tiffany Makes a Confession All three together at a discount Nurse Tiffany: The Complete Trilogy *** Welcome to my friend, Cheri! Â I’m so glad that you could come by and answer some questions. 1) What was the inspiration for these stories? First of all, thank you Ruth for this opportunity to introduce...
Read MoreSorry, no Friday post!
I fell of the wagon with the Romantic Friday Writers posts! Â I’m working on a story that will have a scene that could work well for the lunch date theme, too. Â I was trying to get it done last night, but I just didn’t get enough into it to provide a good sample. Â I knew going into this that I wasn’t going to be able to have an offering every Friday, but now that I’ve done four or five in a row, I really feel like I’m letting you down. Â So, I apologize. Â Know that the reason I don’t have anything today is that I’m working in every spare moment to write new books for your...
Read MoreRomantic Friday Writers: Heart Stopper
http://fridaynightwriters.blogspot.com/Â This blog has a challenge for writers of romance/love stories to write 400 words on a theme each Friday. Â The theme this week is Heart Stopper. I’m delighted to be able to present this tid-bit today. Â It’s a piece that I’ve had to cut from my current WIP. Â It’s one of my darlings that I had to kill. Â So, at least it will get the chance to do something. Â I do love this moment, perhaps I’ll find a story someday that it will work for. Word Count: 392, you may critique in any way that you like. The set up is that Elizabeth and Stewart broke up a few months ago and he moved across the country, but the break up was very amicable and they remain friends. Â Elizabeth has just been reading horrible...
Read MoreDesign a Book Cover
I am participating in a fun cover designing contest at A Writer’s Journey Go on over and take a look at all the fun covers and vote starting August 31st and ending September 7th. Back in the old days I had ClarisWorks on my Mac computer and I would spend hours manipulating clip art pictures, painstakingly cutting and moving and creating.  As I’ve become more and more fixated on writing, I’ve been forgetting how much fun working with images can be.  Recently I downloaded Gimp and I’ve been teaching myself how to use it.  I’m learning to use stock images and manipulating things on Picnic through Flickr.  I’ve also been learning to make videos.  So much fun!  I love using various media to put out a message of some kind. This is a...
