State of the Union

You may have noticed there wasn’t a book review this Monday. I’m reading a book now (A Life Worth Living) that was sent to me by the author after I requested her for an interview.

I’m enjoying it a lot so far and I’m looking forward to reviewing it soon and then having the author here to tell you about it.

Today is usually the day when I share a free short story or an excerpt from something that I’m working on.

But every once in a while I have too much going on!

Believe me, my being busy is almost entirely to do with writing and you, my wonderful reader.

Let me tell you a little about what’s going on!

  • The last few weeks that I’ve put out stories, I’ve gotten some great feedback that people want more of these characters. My short stories are just too short. So I have begun the process of expanding many of my short stories and growing them into novellas.
  • I’m also working on revising a novel that’s longer than any I’ve written yet. It’s the story I todd you about in The Next Big Thing and I really think you are going to love it! It’s more ambitious than any project I’ve done yet.
  • I’m putting in a lot of hours getting my publishing company up and running too. Dev Love Press is going to be publishing The Boy Next Door, a delightful chick lit romance and even though it isn’t coming out until late December, there’s a lot of work that needs to be done.
  • Dev Love Press is also re-releasing (W)hole and Breath(e) in just a few week’s time. (W)hole has been updated with more of the story from Stewart’s point of view and both books have been professionally proofread and had cover redesigns.

This is all besides the Business Law class that I’m taking and a couple more side projects going on (and eventually getting back to writing the paraplegic rock star story that I’ve had so many requests for).

So, this is all to say, keep with me when I sometimes go a week without a Monday book review or Friday story!

I hope you’ll subscribe to my newsletter so I can be sure that you’ll know about all my new books as soon as they’re ready. I don’t send emails very often just so that you’ll know when you see one from me that it’s big news.

The sign up button is to the right.

Another great reason to sign up for the newsletter is that in October, as a thank you to my loyal readers, the new edition of (W)hole will be free on Smashwords only to people signed up here or at the Dev Love Press newsletter. Since so many bought the original edition, I wanted you all to have the opportunity to get the new and improved novel.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me with comments, questions, thoughts, anything at all. You can comment here, you can email me at ruthmadison82@yahoo.com or stop by and visit me at Facebook or Twitter.

There are so many exciting things happening and I really want it to be all ready at once! I’ve never been good with having patience.
